Optical Performance
Our philosophy throughout the development of the HighwayLED has been to integrate world class componentry from the actual illuminance source through to the drivers and the optical controllers.
With its Pure White™ Colour temperature High output LED's, the HighwayLED illuminates streets, squares, and traffic routes to 'S' Classification in accordance to the re-vitalisation of urban areas during nocturnal hours.

Our new Pure Beam™ LED optic range can not only enhance and improve the appearance of the Public Realm, but it can also improve the way in which we perceive light, providing benefits in terms of safety, security and of course energy efficiency.
The PureBeam™ Optic delivers up to 92.6% optical efficiencies at the same time providing maximum uniformity, reduced glare, and a total control of illumination placed precisely where it is required. There are only two optical surfaces, each of which is a free-form surface defined by a NURB's array of curves. Due to the light source being mounted on the side of the area to be illuminated, the surfaces have only one plane of symmetry which lies perpendicular to the road direction. Of the total amount of light leaving the LED's approximately 50% falls on the road surface and 30% falls on the pavements.
Coupled with the advanced lens design, a unique baffle design has been integrated into the die-cast front panel. This maintains that we achieve zero upward illumination. For improved maintenance we have engineered into the front fascia a specially designed ridge to prevent a high percentage of water and dirt penetrating the LED area, which will help to reduce additional cleaning programmes.
